Open doors and empty halls
Dust motes frozen on the walls
Time stops in the morning light
Where pictures hung in black and white
The books still lean the way you left them on the shelf
Each corner holds an echo left talking to itself
The coffee cup ring marks still stains the window sill
As sunlight traces patterns where the morning spills
The emptiness begins to fade
As new light fills the empty space
and what was lost gives way to new
And different colors breaking through
Fading footprints on the stairs
breezing like the morning air
A new reflection in my stare
Different heartbeat, should I dare?
Furniture arranges at a quick glance
time rewrites this new dance
window frames the future I’ve planned
memories vanish like prints in the sand
A stranger’s laugh now mingles with the morning rain
Their fingers trace new patterns through these rooms again
The same old walls now witness something fresh unfold
As yesterday’s memories turns the present into gold
The emptiness has faded away
And new lights filled our shared space
What was lost gave way to new
breath taking colors breaking through
Fading footprints on the stair
breezing like the morning air
A new reflection in my stare
a different heartbeat, should I dare?
